TCS has a huge demand for highly skilled talent for its transformation engagements. The Talent Acquisition and Development (TAD) Re-imagination Program focusses on spotting the best quality talent from across the country and converting them to Industry ready professionals. Earlier, TCS’s campus hiring process, the main source of acquiring new talent, used to be a 3-month activity with visits to each of the TCS accredited institutes, besides conducting tests and interviews in each of them. Through a highly collaborative effort from 12 different functions within TCS and by leveraging digital infrastructure and the scale and might of TCS iON, talent acquisition and development process was reimagined to democratize campus hiring. The test process through TCS National Qualifier test (TNQT) got completed in just two days. It was followed up with video interviews to reduce turn-around time and cut down travel and accommodation costs involved in taking panels to each college. The outcome was completion of the entire selection process with over 66000 interviews conducted in a span of 4 weeks. Starting with digitized recruitment TCS, now is massively digitizing training to get rid of classroom training. Digital talent development initiative has already cut down classroom training by more than 80 percent. This completely changes the agility of the recruitment process. TCS is stressing the system by accelerating the onboarding of trainees where earlier TCS would bring freshers depending on the training capacity it had. This reimagined solution also enabled TCS to reach every region of the country giving equal opportunity to students everywhere.
